We spent 10 days fishing in Alaska this summer, and we were lucky enough to catch some amazing salmon and halibut to bring home with us! We've been enjoying it cooked on the grill, but I hadn't been brave enough to try making fish tacos yet. This was our first attempt ever at making fish tacos, and I have to admit that they turned out pretty darn tasty!
I decided that the sauce for these tacos is what makes them soooo good, so I named it YumTown Sauce. Once you try it, you'll see what I mean -- it really is YumTown USA! ;)
Fish Tacos with YumTown Sauce
Fresh fish of your choice
Chopped red cabbage
Organic baby spinach
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1/4 cup vegan or regular mayonaise
1/2 tsp lime juice
1-2 Tbsp milk
pinch of: onion powder, garlic salt, cumin, and chili powder
Whisk yogurt, mayo, lime juice, and spices together in a medium sized bowl. Add milk until desired consistency.
Prepare vegetables and grill or pan fry your fish. Break the fish into bite sized chunks. Put into warmed tortillas and top with YumTown sauce. Serve with chips and salsa.
